While working in an occupied and operating hospital, Troop Contracting performed interior demolition and new construction for a computer server room for the Biomedical Department. Five existing rooms were converted to one contiguous space on the 7th floor. Work included associated adjacent spaces, both vertically and horizontally, for MEP demolition and new work. New mechanical and electrical chases were created from the basement to the 7th floor as well as from the 7th floor to the roof to support new equipment.
As the Prime Contractor, Troop self- performed carpentry and painting, full time onsite supervision, quality control, safety, and project management. Troop set up and maintained infection control measures, HEPA- filtered negative air containment and temporary partition walls.
Troop worked very closely and coordinated with the hospital for the new electrical/mechanical chases from the basement to roof (13 floors). All chases were located with- in occupied spaces.
