Scope of Work: Under an IDIQ JOC Program with the Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA), Troop provided comprehensive construction services to correct several existing issues with the emergency department entrance and restore primary access for ambulatory patients. Notably, the DVA wanted to correct the existing undersized door opening width, replace an outdated door operator, correct the interior floor levels and finishes, and demo/replace the exterior concrete plaza to mitigate water infiltration into the building and fix uneven pavement conditions. As the Prime Contractor, Troop self‐performed labor and carpentry and provided full time onsite supervision, quality control, safety, and project management. The hospital remained occupied during construction and Troop set up and maintained infection control procedures and temporary partition walls. The new aluminum storefront sliding‐door entry was a long lead item and in order to meet the schedule Troop developed a plan to continue work around the opening while maintaining tight tolerances given during onsite field coordination meetings with subcontractors.
