Scope of Work: This summer schedule‐critical project consisted of major mechanical and architectural upgrades across 7 schools. Troop Contracting’s portion of the work included all general trades and site supervision. Major work included: interior demolition, new light gauge framing / drywall of soffits and chases, structural steel for new chillers, masonry modifications, auditorium upgrades, and building façade improvements. Specialized auditorium work included removal of existing balcony seating to install a new structural steel platform for mechanical equipment. Installation of a 20 FT sound‐rated shaft wall along with historical finish wood trim elements were incorporated around the new equipment. Finally, a new theater curtain was installed. Exterior improvements included: 3 new dormers for HVAC air‐intakes, masonry infills, aluminum windows, and metal cladding. This project kicked off at start of the COVID‐19 Pandemic, and the project was considered essential to the School District’s operations. Troop created and implemented a new internal COVID‐19 Safety Plan to ensure onsite worker safety while maintaining the schedule‐critical tempo on the project. Despite the pandemic’s labor shortage effects and manufacturer’s delays, Troop was able to meet the scheduled completion date, with zero safety issues, by strictly enforcing CDC and OSHA guidelines. Troop Contracting provided full construction services to include site supervision (3 full‐me superintendents), project management, and carpentry / laborer. Value: $4,880,000 |
