Scope of Work: Project included installation of a custom fully‐enclosed, climate‐controlled, shelter with pass‐through canopy walkway back to existing building. In addition to the pre‐engineered shelter building, site work included excavation, concrete foundations, site electrical, and landscaping. Inclusive to the scope of work was renovations to the existing building to create a new dedicated passageway from an existing common corridor leading to the new smoke shelter. As the Prime Contractor, Troop self‐performed labor and carpentry, and provided full time onsite supervision, quality control, safety, and project management. This project was performed during the VA’s day‐to‐day operations without limiting personnel to the use of their existing exercise room, which shared the same common hallway.
