Scope of Work:

Design/Build interior renovation of the existing Gemini 12 Exhibit to include a new raised viewing platform, handicap accessible ramping, stairs, partition wall, carpeting, and stainless steel handrails.  Prior to the renovation project it was difficult for most visitors to see into the Gemini 12 Capsule.  The viewing platform (raised +2 feet) created a location to enhance the visitor experience.

As a design/ build project, Troop provided all preconstruction services which included: design and constructability reviews, scheduling, budget estimating, and value engineering. Troop performed general contracting and onsite construction supervision/quality control services.

As a special note to the project: the Gemini 12 Capsule is on special loan from the National Smithsonian Museum and is a very important American artifact in space exploration. Troop coordinated all special protection means/methods with the Smithsonian Museum to ensure compliance with artifacts procedures.

Contract Value: $35,000
